2017 into 2018
Christmas/New  Year

The City of Oxford Orchestra was founded in 1965 with a firm commitment to provide live, classical music of the highest quality to the widest possible audience.  The Orchestra has played to acclaim in most of the capital cities of Europe whilst also providing all-year-round concerts in Oxford's beautiful, historical buildings, in particular, Sir Christopher Wren's stunning Sheldonian Theatre.

Now into our sixth decade, we are delighted to present our ever-popular trio of Christmas and New Year celebrations. Our Traditional Christmas Carol Concert and Christmas Concerto by Candlelight  have been described by the audience as highlights of their musical year. The Traditional Christmas Carol Concert not
only brings you a wonderful selection of seasonal favourites but also gives you the chance to join in and sing in the marvellous Sheldonian Theatre.
The Christmas Concerto by Candlelight is a truly magical musical experience in the superb acoustics of Exeter College Chapel. Finally, the exuberant Stephen Bell presents his unmissable Viennese New Year Concert and features two
brilliant concertos alongside his eclectic Strauss selection.
